Rain boots!

Living in Seattle rain boots are a must-have.  Every morning Kale wants to put his camo boots on and run around while still in his pajamas.  They are so comfortable inside so you don't have to worry about blisters.  I do love my hunters, but I have to admit Western Chiefs are more comfortable AND more affordable. The black ones that I have are mid length so they don't go up to my knee, but they sell both and plenty of colors and designs - just depends what style you're in the mood for :). We love these puddle jumping boots from Western Chief! Be sure to check out their social media sites:

Brendan Boden

These photos were taken by Brendan Boden. He is Seattle Photographer and studied graphic design. I started out EXTRA nervous and embarrassed for this photo-shoot because I have never had a male photographer before! But it actually went really well, he was really blunt with me and that was something I really appreciated. If I did something that looked bad he would straight up tell me that I look crazy haha. I loved it! If I did something that looked good then he would tell me and show me. Brendan captures very honest shots that projects however you are feeling. I was very pleased with this photo shoot and can't wait to work with him again.
Check out his website: photo.brendanboden.com

Both of these looks made me feel really insecure at first because my stomach is showing a lot. But what I realized is that this is my body and I LIKE this style and I am just going to suck it up and embrace it. Wearing crop tops with jeans can be tricky, normally I wear crop tops with high waisted skirts. I suggest rolling up your jeans a little so that there is some skin showing above your ankles as well, that way there is are different levels of skin showing. Also, I like a baggy sweater so I don't feel like I'm showing TOO much skin, easing my way into it. Brandy Melville has my all time favorite style and then I like to get my jewelry from Earthbound.

Both my shirts and sweater are from Brandy Melville
Hat and glasses are from Nordstrom.
Purse: Michael Kors.
Rings: Earthbound.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day! Today I am not only celebrating my amazing mama but my decision to be a mother as well. It was really scary to accept that I was going to be a mom, I was so nervous to take the test that I avoided it for three months before finally taking the test. Once I finally did, I felt so disappointed in myself and I thought my life was literally over. My mother was pretty much a stay at home mom who was so genuine and fun. She had always wanted me to abstain from sex until I was married.  Which made me feel extra guilty to tell her I was pregnant. When I finally told her I couldn't speak because I was crying so hard so I handed her a picture of the ultrasound. She was as usual so kind and loving and put me on her lap and rocked me! She said, "babies are a blessing, this is an amazing gift you are being given." My mom is always my main source of comfort; I hope my kids feel the same way about me. Two years later I have my beautiful baby boy who is my whole heart!

Everyone who has wished me happy Mothers Day today has made me tear up! I don’t know what’s wrong with me! I am just so privileged to be Kale’s mother and I couldn’t be more thankful for everyone who has watched and helped us grow. My family and friends have made this entire process  much easier, we are beyond lucky!

Break-Upz

For some reason people keep asking me for advice on break-ups, like I’m some kind of expert or something. But whatever it gave me something to write about.  I’ve gone through three big break-ups and they all sucked balls. Today I am only going to talk about my first one. My first real relationship was when I was 15 years old and it lasted till I was about 18. I am not going to use his name in case he reads this, even though he’ll probably already know I am talking about him… Anyway, I loved him SO much first guy I ever said “I love you,” to and we never fought we always had a blast doing anything, it was such a fun relationship. I actually thought we were going to get married and have kids together I even made our family on the Sims. He was really into music and played instruments – he’s amazing at what he does. So during our last year together he got into a great school for music that was in a different state so that meant he was leaving for at least a couple years. I wanted him to follow his dreams and not hold him back what-so-ever so I supported him and let him go on to do his thing. I just graduated HS and didn’t know what was in store for my future and the thought of doing a long distance relationship sounded too painful. So we broke up the day before he left for school. I remember he threw rocks at my bedroom window at midnight to give our final goodbyes. I didn’t let him see me cry once I practically had to hold my breath to hold back tears and the second he drove off I bawled till sunrise. The first month was the hardest, I couldn’t stop thinking about him and missing him. Boy, break ups hurt the heart. To get my mind off him I started working two jobs and worked pretty much every day of the week, I even saved up $3000 dollars - apparently break ups make you rich. I also picked up a hobby, painting, I became obsessed with watercolors and acrylics. So if I wasn’t working I was painting and it brought me so much happiness and cleared my head so much. After awhile I started having a lot girl time and that was really nice. So my best advice is to take some time to grieve the break up and then find distractions! Whether it’s working more, picking up a hobby, or having girl time!!

Waterfront, Portland

I took a road trip to Portland and met up with my favorite photographer Olivia! Portland is amazing guys, if you haven't been you should def make a trip. The weather was so beautiful and sunny so we went to the water front a took some pictures. This whole look doesn't cost much, the entire outfit (accessories too) is about 70 dollars. The crop top, maxi skirt, and hat are all from Forever 21. The purse and watch are from Nordstrom. Cute but stylish and feels good to wear on a sunny day :)

Breanna Coon Photography

Today I got to meet Breanna Coon, she is a local photographer in the Seattle and Bellingham area! She is open for your ideas and is very patient. All of her work is seriously incredible so if you're reading this you gotta check out her website: www.breannamariephotography.com it will be worth your time!
We met at this really cool park in Kirkland and I had never been to before (definitely going back asap), it's called Juanita Bay. Anyway, here is a little Spring wear fashion show.

So here is my FAVORITE sweater ever, you'll probably be seeing a lot more of it. And the dress was actually given to me from my second mama and neighbor :). This outfit is so perfect for Spring.
As you can see you can wear this look with the baggy sweater or hang it off the shoulder/shoulders.
Or you can not wear it and kind of change the look completely- from cozy to simple yet pretty! I love wearing this dress in the Spring and Summer because it is so freaking comfortable in every way possible. It keeps me cool (but warm with a sweater ;)), the material is stretching and the liner inside is smooth, the bright colors and cute flowers are perfect for Spring and Summer weather.
And here you can see me pulling my son's arms out of his sockets...
He loves it though... and me!

Moodstruck Mascara

When I was younger I had the most beautiful long eyelashes. Unfortunately, after I got pregnant my lashes started thinning out and they aren't as long anymore :(. I tried out so many different mascaras but none of them made my lashes look as full and long as I wanted them to. And then finally, I was approached my an old family friend who sells this incredible mascara called Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes. Its a two piece set so first you apply the transplant gel, then the green tea fibers, then one more coat of transplant gel. You can keep layering for a more dramatic look for those nights out!

Check out their website to buy your own mascara as well as  other make up products!
I got mine from Olivia Dykes here is her email: olivialovespretty@gmail.com and her instagram: she_loves_pretty

Here is my before and after:
